While the Thursday and Saturday Night games that NFL Network is promoting this week are less than inspiring, we do get to end the week on a pretty fantastic game. Regardless, Happy Holidays everyone, hope you get everything you wanted besides your favorite team making it to the playoffs. HA! Just kidding.
The Craptastic games of the week go to:
Panthers @ Steelers
Woohoo. I think the Steelers will win this one at home. Just a guess though.
Cowboys @ Cards
Yay! We have a Christmas Day game it's, oh, well, at least the Cowboys get a good scrimmage game to improve their skill sets.
Lions @ Dolphins
The Lions are 1-6 on the road, the Dolphins are 1-6 at home. And every time I pick the damned Fish they let me down. Maybe they'll actually win at home this week.
Ravens @ Browns
Unless Mangenius pulls some of the fancy tricks he did in the middle of the season I don't see how these two teams could play a more inspired game. Even with the Ravens playing tough, close games the last few weeks, they haven't exactly been exciting to watch. Ravens will still win this one on the road.
Patriots @ Bills
If the Patriots actually had some competition this could be a good game. With the streak Belichick and Brady are on though, the Bills should get smeared.
49ers @ Rams
There's actually some division rivalry and competition for the NFC West Division title riding on this game. Go ahead and watch if you don't mind watching a 6-8 Rams try to defend their first place position against a 5-9 49ers. I like Spagnuolo more than Singletary, so I'll go with the Rams to win this one.
Seahawks @ Bucs
Am I being too tough on these games this week? Jeez, I have a large Craptastic section. Anywho, the Bucs will win this game at home.
Not Craptastic but not Fantastic:
Redsk!ns @ Jags
McNabb feels disrespected from his benching. Shanny likes Rex as the starter at the moment. Haynesworthless is still suspended the last four games of the regular season for being disobedient. I don't know what the hell is going on in that locker room, but it can't be pretty. The Jags will easily win at home.
Titans @ Chiefs
The Titans surprised the Texans and quite a few others last week when they finally woke up from their coma and played some football. Still, they are playing the Chiefs at Arrowhead, and the Chiefs need to keep their lead on the Chargers. Chiefs win at home.
Colts @ Raiders
This almost went in the Craptastic section-but I think it might actually be humorous to watch Peyton get frustrated in the Black Hole. The Raiders will pummel the Colts at home just because they can.
Chargers @ Bengals
T.O. is out for the season, OchoCinco has been awfully quiet, and the Bengals are sitting embarrassed at 3-11. The Chargers have an easy win on the road.
Texans @ Broncos
Any game involving the Broncos should be in the Craptastic section, the only reason this game might be mildly amusing is that Tebow is starting for the Broncos again, and if the Coaches and Owner are listening as closely to the fan base as they have been the last few weeks, they'll let Tebow throw for more than 16 passes to 33 runs. I still think ol' Koob and the Texans will get the win on the road.
Vikings @ Eagles
Will Favre play? Will he not play? Does anybody care anymore? Hell no. Why doesn't he stay gone? The Eagles will win this one easily, doesn't matter who the Vikings try to plug in at QB.
Regardless of the large Craptastic section, we do have a solid Fantastic section this week:
Jets @ Bears
The Bears have proved to be a more solid team this season than most of us have wanted to give them credit for. Still, the Jets have more at stake with their playoff hopes on the line. Look for the once beaten and humiliated Jets who dusted themselves off last week and played some football, to shock some Bears at Soldier Field on Sunday.
Giants @ Packers
This is a must-win playoff game for both these NFC teams. The Pack proved themselves a worthy team last week when they almost made a comeback against the Pats at Foxboro with their rookie QB. If Rodgers had been in, they would have won that game. Look for Rodgers to play better than Eli Manning and for Coughlin to throw a fit after his team melts down in the 4th quarter.
Saints @ Falcons
Holy Monday Nighter! This is a pretty stiff NFC South Division rivalry, the Falcons are hanging on to the lead at 12-2 and the Saints are right behind them at 10-4. If the Saints have any hope of getting a Wild Card spot in the close NFC race this game is a must-win. And the Super Bowl Champs feel like they have to prove that they can still play with the big dogs. Saints go for the win on the road.
This woman loves football, I follow it closely and the NFL Network is my favorite channel. Follow every week as I pick who I think will win this season.

Week Fifteen Picks
Three weeks left in the regular season, and a few teams are already starting to plan their moves for the off season. Let's face it, for a few teams, their seasons were done a few weeks ago.
Anywho, the games that could make you go blind this week are:
49ers @ Chargers
This is the Thursday Night Football Game? Really? Chargers win.
Cards @ Panthers
It's the rookie QB face-off. While Jimmy Clausen has had more games to play this season than Skelton who started last week, Skelton seems to be the more consistent QB in this matchup. Since the rest of the teams are pretty much crap except for Hightower and Fitzgerald, let's just say the Cards will win on the road.
Browns @ Bengals
It's the Ohio matchup, woo hoo. Even though this is probably a must-win for Mangenius to keep his job, the Bengals figured out what their offensive is capable of against teams like the Steelers last week. The Bengals should be able to take this one at home.
Lions @ Bucs
Whew, well, both teams have improved since last season-neither of them are great quite yet. But I believe the Bucs will win this one at home.
Broncos @ Raiders
The Broncos lost the only remaining game they had any hope of winning last week to the Cards. The Raiders already came into Mile High this season and scored 59 points. Even with McD gone, the Broncos are still in a free-fall and Pat Bowlen and Ellis are already shopping for a new GM and a new Head Coach for next season. Look for the Raiders to have an easy win over a demoralized Broncos team who is still starting Orton at QB even though he has a rib injury and has sucked hard the last two weeks.
Not Craptastic but not Fantastic:
Redsk!ns @ Cowboys
Week One this was the matchup that everyone talked about. And then the Cowboys kept losing. And then Phillips got fired. And then the Cowboys got motivated. And then Haynesworthless gave Shanahan even more headaches. And then McNabb started to throw INTs and was benched. And then McNabb came back. And now... the Cowboys are the better team to win in big D.
Bills @ Dolphins
I still think the Dolphins are a better team. Even though they haven't won at home much, at all. Surely they can beat the Bills, the Bills team that beat the Browns last week, the Browns team that beat the Dolphins the week before that... and, yeah. I'll still go for the Fish at home.
Chiefs @ Rams
Cassel should be back from his appendectomy this week to lead a stronger Chiefs team to a win over the Rams.
Texans @ Titans
Wherefore art thou Titans? Fisher? Young? Oh, a civil war in the locker room, eh? Look for the Texans to win on the road after a heartbreaking OT loss in Monday Night's game to the Ravens.
Falcons @ Seahawks
The Falcons not only have the best record in the NFL right now, they are also the League's best kept secret. Most aren't paying attention to the dirty birds yet, but will have to in the playoffs. Look for the Falcons to win on the road in Qwest Field. Yeah, I said it, the Seahawks are going to lose at home. Boohoo.
Packers @ Patriots
Once upon a time, I would have had a great argument for why this matchup would be magnificent. And then I learned that Aaron Rodgers is out with a concussion and Flynn is starting. Well, I guess the Pats have another win in Foxboro.
Bears @ Vikings
Well, since the roof has fallen in on the Vikings season, HA! I bet the Bears will mark up another win in Monday Night Football.
The Best Competition of the Week goes to:
Saints @ Ravens
While these two teams have hovered between the top tier to the top of the middle-line teams this season-this should definitely be a game to watch. The Ravens barely pulled out a win on Monday Night to the Texans, and have blown their lead in the 4th quarter more than once this season. While Schaub and the Texans made one hell of a comeback-look for Drew Brees and the Saints to make the comeback and win it.
Jaguars @ Colts
This division rivalry game became a lot more interesting with the current standings of the AFC South. Look for the Jags to give the Colts fits on Sunday, but for Peyton to pull out the win at home in Lucas Oil Stadium.
Eagles @ Giants
My first inclination was to go with the Eagles in this matchup. However, Vick got knocked around A LOT last week, (ahem, offensive line) and Bradshaw and Jacobs have been lighting up the field with their feet. The G-men's offensive line has also been strong up front and their QB hasn't had much of a chance to get that infamous deer in the headlights look. The Giants should be able to win this game at home.
Jets @ Steelers
Rex Ryan and the Jets have had their tail between their legs since their ass whooping by the Patriots two weeks ago. They certainly won't lose by that wide of a margin to the Steelers-but Roethlisberger is certainly motivated to win and get to the playoffs, regardless of a broken foot, or nose, or anything else for that matter.

Week Fourteen Picks
This week we get to see how Studesville handles the head coaching position of the Denver Broncos. (Really? The Running Back's coach? But there hasn't even been a rushing offense to speak of this season.) Anywho, Pat Bowlen is hoping that this new interim coach can provide the spark that both Dallas and Minnesota found in the firings of their head coaches. Welcome to NFL, the Not For Long League.
The Craptastic games go to:
Colts @ Titans
Wow, both teams are plummeting quickly and neither know how to save themselves. Even though Peyton Manning has thrown 11 INTs the last three games, I think the Colts have a better chance of winning this one.
Browns @ Bills
The Bills don't know how to play football for 60 minutes. Last week they took Favre out of the game and then ran back an INT for a touchdown. After that, they thought their game problems were solved. The Browns, on the other hand, are playing for the full 60 minutes and have taken down quality teams this year. Look for Mangenius and the Browns to finish above .500 and Mangenius to hang onto his job for another year.
Bucs @ Redsk!ns
The Bucs struggle in cold weather games but the Sk!ns have struggled all season. Look for the Bucs to upset the Sk!ns at home.
Seahawks @ 49ers
A division rivalry that could determine a playoff position for either team. Yet the 49ers assistant coach abruptly resigned this week and Alex Smith and Singletary are left to do what they do best. Lose. The Seahawks aren't consistent on the road but they should be able to beat a down and out 49ers team.
Broncos @ Cards
Wow. Talk about two seasons that are shot. Studesville starts at head coach this week against rookie QB Skelton. You know what the Broncos should do? They should try out their rookie QB Tebow just to see what he can do. Broncos win on the road. Finally.
Not Craptastic but not Fantastic:
Packers @ Lions
The Lions could win games if they only lasted 30 minutes. The Packers are hunting for the lead in their division and are so close to the playoffs they can taste it. Look for the Pack to come out with the win.
Giants @ Vikings
The Giants may have lost the last four meetings between these two teams but are due for a win.
Bengals @ Steelers
The Steelers finally gained the upper hand with their win over the other division rival in the Ravens. They'll hang on to the lead this week with a win against the Bengals.
Raiders @ Jags
The Jags are surprisingly more consistent and have the lead in the AFC South. The Raiders are too inconsistent for me to pick them in this game. Jags for the win.
Falcons @ Panthers
The Panthers haven't played well all season. And this last week Coach John Fox admitted it was probably due to a lack of talent. The Falcons certainly don't have a lack of talent and will take another win to add to their division lead.
Rams @ Saints
The Rams are playing better, but probably won't win their 3rd road game this season against a Saints team who is trying to stay competitive with their division rival, the Falcons. Saints win.
Chiefs @ Chargers
The Chiefs' QB Matt Cassel is out this week due to his appendectomy, bringing in Brodie for QB. Between that and playing at Qualcomm I'd have to say that the Chargers take the win and come one game closer to taking the division lead.
Ravens @ Texans
Why is this the Monday Night game? Anywho, the Texans are inconsistent enough this season to not be able to win against a Ravens team whose mediocre offense hasn't had much improvement this season. Ravens for the win.
Fantastic Competition:
Patriots @ Bears
Cutler complained about Soldier Field having one of the worst turfs in the NFL this week. Even though the worst turf should serve as an advantage for the home team, the Pats know enough about football to stall the Martz-Cutler offense and work around Urlacher and the defense.
Dolphins @ Jets
The Jets have to be absolutely humiliated after their Monday Night loss when Belichick exposed all their weaknesses. Sparano will be watching this film very carefully, but alas, his sunglasses will hinder his vision and the Jets will win for the second time this season in this division rivalry matchup.
Eagles @ Cowboys
The Cowboys got good in just enough time to throw a wrench into other teams' playoff plans. This should be a real tough game for either team to win, but the Eagles have more at stake for playoff chances and I'll take Vick over Kitna any day.
The Craptastic games go to:

Wow, both teams are plummeting quickly and neither know how to save themselves. Even though Peyton Manning has thrown 11 INTs the last three games, I think the Colts have a better chance of winning this one.

Week Thirteen Picks
Four more weeks of the regular season and some of the teams and fans can't wait for their team to go home during the off season and figure out what the hell the game of football is about. Anywho...
The craptastic games of the week go to:
Broncos @ Chiefs
Sure, it's a division rivalry. Sure, the Chiefs coach Todd Haley shook his finger at Josh McDaniels after losing by a few scores to the Broncos in Mile High a couple of weeks ago -- that doesn't make this game that much more interesting. Look for the Chiefs to win at home.
Bills @ Vikings
I don't know that the Vikings will put forth an honest effort this week. That and Favre has a touchdown to interception ratio of 22:25 in the game immediately following his retirement announcement. The Bills rush defense has improved-but I don't think it'll be enough to stop the Vikings at home.
Rams @ Cards
Sam Bradford will be laughing hard. Derek Anderson stated last week that nothing is funny, that he takes this sh*t seriously, and that he studies his ass off every week. I think the fun loving Rams and Sam Bradford will take their second road win easily.
Panthers @ Seahawks
Humph. I'll take the Seahawks at home.
Not craptastic but not fantastic:
Saints @ Bengals
The Saints aren't as consistent as the 2009 team, but they should be able to pull out the win against the Bengals.
Bears @ Lions
The Lions may have felt robbed in Week One with the Calvin Johnson non-catch episode. However, these two teams have demonstrated very different abilities in the weeks since then, and the Bears will probably take the road win against a Lions team being led by Stanton this week.
49ers @ Packers
I think the Pack could claim their 3rd coach of the season this week. Bye Phillips, Childress, and... Singletary? The Pack could claim their 3rd coach AND take home the win this week. (Now if could only arrange for the Packers to play the Broncos....)
Browns @ Dolphins
The Dolphins are a solid team when they actually show up to play. The Browns have surprised a few teams (and me) this season. The Fish will be more determined to win this game as it could mean their division.
Redsk!ns @ Giants
The Giants may be running hot and cold this season -- but that hasn't stopped Eli Manning from picking apart bad defenses. Look for the G-Men to win this one.
Jags @ Titans
Either the good Jags or the bad Jags could show up this week. Either way, Kerry Collins is back in for the Titans and Coach Fisher needs the Win to keep his job. I'll take the Titans to win at home.
Raiders @ Chargers
The Raiders could surprise the Chargers and take this one. But I doubt it. The Chargers will be making a run at the Chiefs lead in the division.
Cowboys @ Colts
Some are surprised the Colts are 6-6. What they fail to consider is that Caldwell isn't as competitive of a coach as Dungy -- and Manning can only do so much. That being said, I don't believe Kitna and Garrett will walk out of Lucas Oil with a win.
Falcons @ Bucs
The Falcons have too much to lose in their division if they drop this game to the Bucs. And while their last few wins have been some close calls, they will be playing hard to keep their division position solid.
Texans @ Eagles
The Texans surprised the Titans at home last week. I'll still take the Eagles offense over the Texans defense this season. Look for Vick and his team to win at home this week.
Some Fantastic competition this week:
Steelers @ Ravens
The Ravens offense has been mediocre at best, and their defense has been on board to play the majority of the season. While the Steelers are running hot and cold, they are the better team when they show up to play. The Steelers should win this one on the road.
Jets @ Pats
A high-powered AFC game this week. While the Jets won the first meeting of these two teams, look for Belichick and Brady to solidify a win at home.

Week Twelve Picks
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! We are treated to three games today, and while the Lions probably won't be able to turn it around, the Cowboys sure have, and the other home team, the Jets, will probably come out with the win. Let's get down to the craptastic games of the week.
Our Craptastics of the Week:
Panthers @ Browns
The Panthers still haven't figured out what the game of football is this season and the Browns have shown signs of life out of their coach in Mangenius. I bet the Browns easily win this one at home this week.
Rams @ Broncos
The winless on the road Rams head into Mile High this week against a Broncos team that still hasn't developed an identity. And if you ever look at their coach on the sidelines he has a pretty confused look on his face as he thumbs through his playbook. Still I'm going to give the Broncos the win at home since they may show up to play like they did against the Chiefs.
Bucs @ Ravens
The Bucs are starting to play with proficiency and consistency, while the Ravens defense is sliding into mediocrity with its offense. I'll take the upset this week and go with the Bucs.
49ers @ Cardinals
This is our Monday Night game? It'll be a good thing I'll still be in a food and family coma from the Thanksgiving weekend. I think the Cardinals will win this one at home.
Not Craptastic but not Fantastic:
Bengals @ Jets
The Bengals are a bombastic bunch but certainly don't back up what they say. The Jets have been pretty solid and will easily win this one at home tonight.
Titans @ Texans
The Texans started off the season pretty strong but have lost some of their identity along the way. The Titans started the season off with Vince Young but have lost him due to his attitude problems along the way. The Texans will easily win this one at home against a QB that struggled in his first NFL outing. (And I can't even remember his name.)
Vikings @ Redsk!ns
I'll be slightly amused by Leslie Frazier being able to turn around team purple in a week like Jason Garrett was able to do for the Cowboys. However, since I don't honestly think that will happen twice in a season, I bet Shanny and the Sk!ns take the win at home.
Steelers @ Bills
Maybe I'm giving the Bills more credit than they deserve, but I think they should be able to stay competitive with the Steelers. I don't think they'll win, but it should be a decent game.
Jags @ Giants
Both of these teams have been running hot and cold this year, but I think the Giants will be able to pull out the win at home this week.
Dolphins @ Raiders
The Raiders run hot and cold. Brandon Marshall runs hot and cold. I think these teams will be pretty evenly matched in the Black Hole since both Chads are injured for the Fish. Unfortunately the Raiders will pull out the win.
Chiefs @ Seahawks
It's a battle of the two teams who consistently win the assistance of their twelfth man. The advantage and the win will go to the Hawks this week.
Eagles @ Bears
The Bears have had an easy schedule and a couple of lucky wins. They should get exposed this week as Vick and the Eagles roll into town. Eagles win.
Fantastic Competition:
Patriots @ Lions
While I think the Patriots will have a difficult time winning this one on the road, I think that mad genius Belichick will still find a way to stymie the Lions in the last minutes of the game and pull out the win.
Saints @ Cowboys
Another Thanksgiving treat! A couple of weeks ago I would have easily given this win to the Saints, but given Garrett's ability to inspire the Cowboys and the fact they are playing at home I think the Boys will win.
Packers @ Falcons
A battle between a couple of the toughest NFC teams, but I still think the Pack will be able to pull out the win on the road. Aaron Rodgers is on fire, and their defense has Clay Matthews all over it.
Chargers @ Colts
The only thing Norvert Turner has going for his team is his QB in Philip Rivers. A competitive loudmouth that could really fit in with the likes of those on the Bengals, (and then maybe the Bengals would be good). QB Peyton Manning won't let Rivers get under his skin and will win once again at Lucas Oil Stadium.

Week Eleven Picks
Coming to you later than usual due to a power outage in our area, here are this week's picks.
The Craptastics:
Ravens @ Panthers
The only interesting part of the Ravens is their defense; when Ray Lewis flies around the field knocking the hell out of people. The Panthers, just aren't interesting. Ravens will have an easy win on the road.
Bills @ Bengals
It's a meeting of the blah vs. the bombastic blah. Yay. Bengals win at home.
Lions @ Cowboys
The Cowboys showed up looking like a new team last week under Garrett. The Lions are also 2-7, and while a better team than maybe last season, they still don't get it. I'm not sure what the Cowboys will be up to this week, but they will try for a solid home win. I'm picking the Boys.
Browns @ Jags
These two have better records than most would give them credit for, but they still don't play that consistently or cleanly. I'll take the Jags to win at home.
Bucs @ 49ers
The Bucs have a better record coming into this game, but the 49ers may have something figured out this week and could get it done at home.
Not Craptastic but not Fantastic:
Cards @ Chiefs
The Chiefs and Todd Haley were humiliated at Mile High last week and Haley proved it by being a poor sport at the end of the game and scolded McDaniels instead of shaking his hand. They must have expected to come into Denver and mow over the Broncos. (And after Denver's previous two pitiful games-who could blame them.) The Chiefs won't let that happen to them at home this week and will easily dominate the Cards.
Raiders @ Steelers
The Raiders may be on a three game winning streak, but I don't think it will extend to four at Heinz Field. The Black Hole play a little too sporadically to play a tough (albeit injured) Steelers team. Pittsburgh wins at home.
Redsk!ns @ Titans
The Sk!ns were humiliated at home on MNF as Vick and the Eagles controlled every aspect of the game. Shanny and his team won't find it any easier this week as they head into Tennessee to take on Fisher and the Titans. Titans easily win at home.
Seahawks @ Saints
The Hawks win consistently at home. The Saints have a good chance of not being repeat Super Bowl champs. Nonetheless, they will win at home.
Falcons @ Rams
While the Rams play well at home, they don't have the right formula quite yet to be consistently successful. The Falcons will win on the road.
Broncos @ Chargers
Sure, it's a division rivalry. And yes, it is the MNF game. Much to the chagrin of Broncos and Chargers fans everywhere. (Do we really want the eyes of the nation on our teams when they suck?) The Broncos actually showed up to play last week, so screw it, I'll pick them to win on the road. And I may regret it.
Some Fantastic Competition (hopefully):
Bears @ Dolphins
The Fish won their first game at home this week, and I'm thinking that tonight they'll push that win streak to an amazing 2.
Pack @ Vikings
I laughed heartily when these two teams last played at Lambeau Field. I really thought it would be Favre's last game as he hobbled off the field with his two fractures in his ankle-or whatever. Short of becoming bionic man, I don't think he'll make it much longer. It's a good thing the Vikings play in a dome so that arthritis doesn't set in their QB's stressed joints. I still think the Pack will come out with a win.
Texans @ Jets
I realize that the Texans aren't the most reliable team. If they show up with the passion to play, they could provide a challenge to the Jets. I still think the Jets have the best chance of getting the win.
Colts @ Pats
Another couple of AFC powerhouse teams-this game will be close-only a score apart. If Caldwell loosens the reins and allows Manning to control the game how he wants instead of letting him get frustrated, the Colts can eke out the win.
Giants @ Eagles
The G-men were genuinely surprised by the Cowboys last week, and the Sk!ns were genuinely surprised by the Eagles. I think the Eagles will continue their hot streak at home. Though I don't think Vick will have the same breakout game that he did against the Sk!ns.
The Craptastics:
Ravens @ Panthers
The only interesting part of the Ravens is their defense; when Ray Lewis flies around the field knocking the hell out of people. The Panthers, just aren't interesting. Ravens will have an easy win on the road.

Week Ten Picks
Coming to you a few days earlier this week because there's THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL ON TONIGHT! On bye this week is one team I've actually enjoyed watching this season, the Packers, the others are the Saints, Raiders, and Chargers. The latter two will be laughing at Sunday's game when the Chiefs play at the Broncos-no doubt.
The Craptastic games of the week go to:
Lions @ Bills
The Bills have lost their last three games by a field goal, and all to pretty good teams. This is their last chance to win a game all season and I bet they get it done against Shaun Hill and the Lions.
Panthers @ Bucs
The Panthers have lost all the games they're supposed to, the Bucs have won all the games they were supposed to, and they'll win this one at home. Even though Jimmy Clausen is back in for the Panthers.
Chiefs @ Broncos
Division rivalry! Woohoo! That being said, even though the Broncos are coming off a bye week, they lost horribly to the Raiders and then the 49ers in London two weeks prior to their bye. The Chiefs have remained fairly consistent and look to take the AFC West division this season. The Chiefs will win at Mile High.
Seahawks @ Cardinals
The Seahawks may not play that well on the road, but it's not as though the Cardinals are that difficult of a team. Hasselbeck is back from his injury and will be able to complete a pass unlike Derek Anderson. This will be the difference maker in two teams who are similar in 3rd down conversions, time of possession, and total yards per game. Hawks for the win.
Rams @ 49ers
The Rams lead this division by 1/2 game, and the 49ers are only 2 games off the lead. The Rams are also 0-3 on the road, and after this game they'll be 0-4.
Not Craptastic but not Fantastic:
Vikings @ Bears
The Vikings are as good as their record suggests, and the Bears have had wins handed to them by their opponents' ability to beat themselves. The Bears enter this week still under the illusion that they are good, and the Vikings have momentum after their comeback OT win last week. (Against the Cards, I might add). Favre may be the douchiest drama queen of the NFL-but he can probably beat CutINTler and the Bears.
Bengals @ Colts
Ocho Cinco admitted that the Bengals were probably the laughing stocks of the NFL right now. Since no one really wants to argue that point-especially after watching him gain yards in Monday Night's game and then proceed to spike the ball giving his team a penalty-we can readily agree with his statement. Look for Peyton Manning to be his usual stolid self at Lucas Oil Stadium and win this one handily.
Texans @ Jaguars
Two division rivals without a secondary. Sweet. I'll take Matt Schaub, Andre Johnson, and Arian Foster over the hot and cold David Garrard and Mike Sims-Walker most days of the week. Texans win.
Cowboys @ Giants
I'm really liking the way the Giants are playing right now-and normally this would be a good game except the Cowboys are a steaming pile of poo. Jason Garrett has been part of the problem at Dallas this season and I don't think he'll be able to pull the team out of the bowels of the NFL in a week or ever. Phillips took the fall because he had to-but there should be many more people accountable in Dallas for this team. (Ahem, Jerry Jones). G-men easily win at home.
Fantastic Competition (hopefully):
Ravens @ Falcons
Did I mention that it's time for THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL?!!! We get a competitive game this week with the Ravens at the Falcons. Both teams are at 6-2, and while the Ravens have played tougher teams than the Falcons thus far, Baltimore's offense doesn't get as many points on the board. I'm going with the better offense at home for the win.
Jets @ Browns
The Browns in the competitive section? WHAT?! Um, yeah, while I have made fun of Mangenius and the Browns the majority of this season-they went out and proved me wrong against the Patriots and the Saints. Their offense is starting to come around with their gadget plays and Colt McCoy and defensive coordinator Rob Ryan should have a few tricks in store for his twin brother and Jets head coach Rex Ryan. I'll take the Browns to surprise the Jets with a win at home.
Titans @ Dolphins
The Dolphins will be dusting off the other Chad this week (Henne instead of Pennington, that is) and the Titans will continue with their somewhat-sort of stable QB Vince Young. While Henne typically has more passing yards per average, the Titans as a whole this season score more points and have more rushing yardage. The Dolphins won't win their first game at home until next Thursday night when they host the Bears. Titans win.
Patriots @ Steelers
A couple of AFC powerhouses, but while the Patriots are in rebuild mode with their younger version of a team, the Steelers are running hot and experienced and will win easily at home.
Eagles @ Redsk!ns
I'm not sure how competitive this Monday Night matchup will be-but it will be oh so dramatic when McNabb's old team comes to town. Look for Vick to light it up against the Sk!ns defense and Haynesworthless to get tired easily. Eagles for the win.
The Craptastic games of the week go to:
Lions @ Bills
The Bills have lost their last three games by a field goal, and all to pretty good teams. This is their last chance to win a game all season and I bet they get it done against Shaun Hill and the Lions.

Week Nine Picks
On bye this week are the Broncos, Jaguars, 49ers, Redsk!ns, Rams and Titans. And fan bases of five of six of these teams are grateful they get a week off from the endless torture that is their season and team's playing ability.
Everyone else, it's time for the craptastic games of the week:
Bears vs. Bills @ Toronto
The Bills "other" home is hosting the Bears, a self-delusional team who actually thinks they are good. The Bills have taken quality teams to overtime the last two weeks and are hungry for a win. I say they get it done today and avoid going 0-16.
Bucs @ Falcons
When the Falcons played well last year, they were exciting. Since I never know who's going to show up week to week from this team, it lands itself in the craptastic section when they're playing the Bucs; regardless of Raheem Morris believing he has the best team in the NFC. Maybe he should check to see exactly what teams his wins came against, and then rethink that thought. Falcons win at home.
Not craptastic but not fantastic:
Patriots @ Browns
Mangenius and the Browns stunned most of the nation when they upset the Saints a couple of weeks ago. That won't happen when Belichick and the Pats come to town. In fact, I bet Mangenius craps his pants at the sight of his former boss. And this game probably won't end in an awkward former employee man-bear hug type of thing on Belichick's part. Pats win.
Chargers @ Texans
The Texans knew how to win in Week One against the Colts at home, they have since mellowed out in their competitive edge. The Chargers aren't sure what's up or down except that their QB can throw. I'm not entirely positive which team will win this one, but I'll pick the Texans to win at home and the Chargers to wallow in the depths of the AFC West with the Broncos.
Cardinals @ Vikings
I and several Vikings fans are hoping that Favre and Childo lose today so that Childo loses his job in the week to come. (Read: Zigi Wylf didn't care for Childo letting Randy Moss go.) Even if the Cards still have no real identity or QB, (maybe they could convince Kurt Warner to come back) I'm hoping they stomp the Vikes and send Childo packing.
Saints @ Panthers
The Saints may have lost their touch this season, but they'll get it done today against the Panthers.
Giants @ Seahawks
The Giants are exciting to watch once again this season as they head into Qwest Field. While the Seahawks are unbeaten at home largely due to their 12th man, I think they'll face tough competition today if Eli doesn't get too frazzled. G-men win on the road.
Cowboys @ Packers
Jerry Jones will get to apologize again this week for the Dallas Cowboys. The Packers will enjoy the opportunity of sharpening their skills on a bad team-it's kind of like a scrimmage day for the ol' Pack. Cheeseheads win.
Steelers @ Bengals
Even though the Bengals swept the Steelers last season-they aren't the same team. (Maybe there are too many loudmouths on the bench?) Steelers get it done in Monday Night Football.
Fantastic Competition:
Jets @ Lions
I honestly do think the Lions will make this a tough game at home-but the Jets will still pull out a win.
Dolphins @ Ravens
When the Ravens defense shows up to play, they play hard. When the Ravens offense shows up to play... oh, they haven't shown up yet. The Dolphins have been playing hard all season long on both sides of the ball and will move to 5-0 on the road after today's game.
Colts @ Eagles
At first blush, I would take Manning over Vick, however, considering Andy Reid's record of 11-0 after the bye week, I'm going with the Eagles at home.
Chiefs @ Raiders
Whoah. Is this the advent of Armageddon? The world ending? WTF? The Chiefs have been a solid team all season and the Raiders have recently steamrolled the Broncos and Seahawks by some embarrassing combined score of 92-17 or some crap. If the Raiders win this game, they'll still be in contention for the AFC West, if the Chiefs win, they'll have a comfortable lead in the division. Since I'm not sure which Raiders team will show up this week, (and I sincerely hope it's the bad one) I'll take the Chiefs to win on the road. I dislike them a little less than the Raiders.

Week Eight Picks
Another post the morning of! I'm going to have to get it together once Thursday Night Football starts again. Anywho, those of you who were patient enough to read last week's picks on Sunday morning received the privilege of reading a mostly accurate list. We went 12-2 last week, it would have been perfect but who honestly would have picked Mangenius and the Browns to upset the Saints at home and... well, from the last two seasons the Raiders have won at Mile High.
This week Falcons, Ravens, Giants, and Eagles are on Byes. You know who else are on byes this week? The Browns, so Mangenius can rest his brain and upset someone else in Week Nine, and Da Bears, so that Cutler can learn the true colors of his teammates uniforms. (Read: DeAngelo Hall plays for the Sk!ns, you shouldn't throw to him four times in a game.)
The Craptastic Games of the Week go to:
Broncos @ 49ers
I hate the London games, whoever gets sent there each season has a crappy season all the way around. Maybe that's what McDaniels and Singletary can blame their teams' performances on. Even though they are across the pond, I think I can trust McDaniels and Orton to get it done more than Singletary and whoever the new QB is starting for him. Broncos win.
Jags @ Cowboys
Ugh. I really don't want to pick this game, but I'm going with the Jags. Each time I pick the Cowboys they lose miserably, even if they are playing in their new, fancy, schmancy stadium. Maybe Jerry Jones' head will actually explode today.
Bucs @ Cards
Both of these teams are a mess despite Raheem Morris saying that he had the best team in the NFC. Really? Anywho, the Cards have won both their previous games at home, and I bet they get it done today too.
Panthers @ Rams
The Rams are a better team all the way around and they'll pick up the win at home.
Not Craptastic but not Fantastic:
Dolphins @ Bengals
The Dolphins are playing well this year and the Bengals might finally have figured out what they have on offense. I still think the Fish will pull out the win after their aggravating loss last week to the Steelers. (By one point).
Bills @ Chiefs
Apparently the Bills offense actually competed against the Ravens last week. Apparently the Bills defense still sucks because they still lost to a mediocre Ravens offense. Even with their offensive line finally getting it together, they won't be able to hear each other in Arrowhead. Chiefs win.
Redsk!ns @ Lions
Stafford is back in for the Lions, they are well rested and ready to win one at home with their team intact again. The Sk!ns run hot and cold and won last week primarily because the Bears QB threw four passes to DeAngelo Hall. Lions win.
Titans @ Chargers
The Titans have a way of frustrating their opponents into making mistakes, the Chargers have a way of frustrating their fan base with their poor playing, poor coaching and bad calls. Titans will win this one on the road. Maybe Norvert Turner's head will explode. That would make me happy.
Seahawks @ Raiders
The Raiders haven't won back-to-back games since 2008. And while they mowed over the Broncos last week at Mile High (making it three seasons in a row). I'm betting they're the same old Faders again today. I'll take the Hawks to win on the road even though they aren't as strong of a road team as a home team.
The Fantastic Games go to:
All right, I'm putting four of the games here this week, and thankfully, two of them are Sunday Night and Monday Night Football. Sadly, Chris Collinsworth and Jon "Captain Obvious" Gruden will still be announcing.
Packers @ Jets
I think the Pack could go all the way this year barring too many injuries, alas, they have a lot of injuries this week and are on the road. I think the Jets beat the Pack.
Vikings @ Pats
I don't think that the Vikings will be that competitive. There's only so much a team can do with a moron for a coach who gets a $35,000 fine for whining about the officiating at his team's previous game and who talks smack about the Pats trading Randy Moss. Oh, and don't forget the antique QB who now has two fractures in his foot but is insisting on starting anyway. Puh-lease! Will Favre ever go away? Pats win this, even with Favre making his 292nd start.
Steelers @ Saints
Even though the Saints lost at home last week to the Browns... of all teams. I don't think they've entirely lost their touch. In spite of this, I still think the Steelers are a better team and will take home a win.
Texans @ Colts
The Texans handily beat the Colts in the first match up of the season. Kubiak admitted it was their Super Bowl and they had spent a lot of time planning for that game. I don't think they've had the time to plan for this one, and since the formation of the AFC South, no other team in the division has swept the Colts. I don't think it happens at Lucas Oil on Monday Night. Colts win.

Week Seven Picks
Don't worry, we're just going to post the morning of football. :) But with plenty of time to spare. This week we have the Lions, Texans, Colts, and Jets taking a well deserved break. And we also have some craptastic games to look forward to, (or not).
The Craptastic goes to:
Bills @ Ravens
Um, I have a feeling that the Ravens will win. Just a hunch, really.
49ers @ Panthers
The Panthers have QB Matt Moore and Receiver Steve Smith back in, and they are hoping not to go 0-6. I think they get it done against Singletary's mess this week.
Rams @ Bucs
The Rams have had some exciting, competitive games at home, but are still winless on the road. Bucs win.
Not Craptastic but not Fantastic:
Bengals @ Falcons
Apparently, Ochocinco and T.O. are too busy with their T.V. shows to contribute much of anything to this boring offense. The Falcons will want to redeem themselves this week after last week's loss. Dirty Birds win at home.
Jags @ Chiefs
The Jags are inconsistent already, but when they have to take on the Chiefs in Arrowhead they will fall apart. Chiefs win.
Browns @ Saints
Colt McCoy is getting his second start in the NFL. Too bad his coach is Mangenius-McCoy could be a future Brees if he had the right coaching. Brees and the Saints win easily at home.
Redsk!ns @ Bears
The Bears are not as good as people thought they were. They had a couple of lucky wins and Cutler gets to face the Coach that he pined for in Denver. Quote: "Nobody asked me about firing Shanahan." That's because you don't run the team, jackass. Anywho, Shanny will know how to get under his former QB's skin. Sk!ns win.
Eagles @ Titans
These two teams are inconsistent enough for me to not know which one to pick for this game. So what the hell, how about the Titans winning at home against Kevin Kolb and the Eagles.
Cardinals @ Seahawks
Two words: Qwest Field. The Hawks are unstoppable at home and they just came off their first big road win. They will easily hand the lost Cards another loss.
Pats @ Chargers
Phil Rivers scares me. Tom Brady's long sweaty locks scare me. The Patriots will come into Qualcomm's first sold out game and piss off a lot of Charger fans when they realize how fragile their injury-ridden team is. Pats win.
Raiders @ Broncos
The Broncos are better than their 2-4 score-they had a blowout win against Seattle, a tough road win in Tennessee and outplayed both the Colts and Jets in Denver-but lost those two games to lackluster red zone production and turnovers. If they crisp up their playing ability, they could turn their season around. They won't have to be too crisp today to get Tom Cable one step closer to getting fired. Broncos win.
Fantastic Games of the Week (and two of them happen to be both Sunday Night and Monday Night Games! Now if we can only do something about Chris Collinsworth and Jon "Captain Obvious" Gruden this woman's game night would be complete:
Steelers @ Dolphins
Both teams are playing tough this year, but the Fish have lost at home to two very good teams, the Pats and Jets. I think the Steelers will be able to beat them at home as well.
Vikings @ Packers
The Pack may be banged up, but they'll be sure to send purple Judas Favre and the Vikings hightailing it from Lambeau Field. By the way, Favre doesn't make the top 20 QBs in completion percentage, yards, yards-per-attempt, or QB rating. Great job on paying him all that dough, Chilly. Pack for the win.
Giants @ Cowboys
If you looked up lost in the dictionary you would see Wade Phillips picture next to it. He just came out this week and stated that he has the best 1-4 team in the League. Wow. So, you're better than, oh wait, you're the only team at 1-4, there are others at 1-5 and 0-5, but you are the ONLY team at 1-4, Wade. Great job on those math skills, or even looking at a standings chart. The G-men come in with their 1st rated defensive line and get it done.

Week Six Picks
Well, four of the teams with little to no identity: Cardinals, Bills, Panthers and Bengals-(well, the Bengals have a loud-mouthed identity-not necessarily a playing identity) have the week off to get some things figured out. Or not. I don't really know what these people do in their spare time.
Let's try some picks this week, maybe there won't be as many upsets and I won't pick below .500 like I did last week. Ouch.
The Craptastic game of the week goes to:
Raiders @ 49ers
Blarg. Really? This game is going to exist? Okay, some say that it will be the perfect game for the 49ers to get their first win of the season against the other loser California team. But you know what? I think Tom Cable and the Raiders are more scared of Al Davis than Singletary is of getting fired by Jed York. I think the Black Hole comes in and takes the win.
Not Craptastic but not Fantastic:
Chargers @ Rams
The Rams have a talent shortage in their secondary, and Sam Bradford can only carry this team so far. The Chargers should be able to outscore the Rams if they don't have another special teams meltdown. Either way, both teams are carried on the shoulders of their QBs. I think the veteran QB comes out with the win.
Browns @ Steelers
This game will be the debut of two QBs in the regular season. Rookie Colt McCoy will get to struggle with the wonderful offensive line that Mangenius has assembled for him. And the Steelers get Big Dope back. Awesome. I still don't see why his suspension was reduced from six games to four-I personally could have gone this game and the next without seeing him and felt wholly better about the sport of football.
But the Steelers win. It is Mangenius they're facing, after all.
Chiefs @ Texans
The Texans showed up to beat the Colts in Week One, the Chiefs tried like hell to beat the Colts last week but didn't pull it off. Since Week Three when the Texans gave up the state rivalry in a major loss to the Cowboys they have lost their stride. I don't know if they'll have it at home in this game or not-but the Chiefs will come in with their same old underdog confidence. Chiefs win.
Lions @ Giants
The Lions put up a huge win last week, but I don't think it will be enough to compete against the G-men who are starting to turn things around for themselves. Hakeem Nicks is just playing too well and Coughlin may have figured out the play calling for this season.
Falcons @ Eagles
Mike Vick is excited to be playing in this game against his former team. I just don't think anyone can recover that quickly from having their cartilage separated from their rib cage. While he may play for a time, I don't think he'll last all game and Kolb will have to try to put points on the board. The Philly D also got burned last week in their win against the 49ers, and I don't think they'll be able to handle Roddy White and Tony Gonzalez this week. Plus, the Falcons actually have an offense unlike the Eagles' previous opponent. Falcons win.
Seahawks @ Bears
I cannot wait for the Bears to actually go up against a team that will give them trouble. The Hawks could if they were playing at home in Qwest Field, but they are a very different team on the road. Meanwhile the Bears continue to pat themselves on their fat backs after lucky wins against the Lions in Week One and the self destructing Pack in Week Three. Although the G-men's 9 sacks on Cutler in the first half of Week Four sort of made up for those two gimmie wins, I still think the Bears will have another gimmie win this week against the Seahawks. And Cutler is still a douchebag.
Saints @ Bucs
I don't foresee a repeat of the Super Bowl champs this year-they are definitely not the same team. The Bucs defense looks as though they've improved but they've played against the likes of QBs: Jake Delhomme, Matt Moore, Charlie Batch, and Carson Palmer. I think Drew Brees exposes the defense for who they really are this week. Saints win.
Jets @ Broncos
I picked the Broncos in Week Four to beat the Titans and they did. Screw the Jets, I'm picking the Broncos to win this week. They played tough against the Titans and the Ravens and Denver is painting the town orange for Sunday. The Jets will come in thinking they've got an easy win with their passer-QB combo in Santonio Holmes and Mark Sanchez. Ol' Wink Martindale will be up to the challenge in creating our defensive schemes. And Orton and our receivers will be able to take advantage of the Jets weak secondary.
Cowboys @ Vikings
Thirty other fan bases will enjoy the outcome of this game as one of these overrated teams goes to 1-4 and the other goes to 2-3. Both coaches are schmoes, Romo is overrated and Favre should have retired as a Packer and stayed retired as a frickin' Packer, any chance he had of a legacy has been wasted by his dramatic retirement and injury antics and now apparently someone out there has pictures of his meat stick on their phone. Amazing. I can't stand either of these teams at the moment, but I guess I'll take Wade Phillips and the Boys over Chilly and the Kings.
Colts @ Redsk!ns
Shanahan lost 6 of 8 games to the Colts and Peyton Manning when he was coaching the Denver Broncos. Those Broncos teams were also built better than the Sk!ns conglomerate he's just started working on. While the Colts are slowly fading, I think they'll come in to FedEx Field and take the win.
Titans @ Jaguars
The only thing potentially exciting in this game is that everyone in the AFC South is tied at 3-2. This game would decidedly give the edge to one of those four teams. I think the edge will go to the Titans this week as I just don't see the good David Garrard showing up three weeks in a row.
Fantastic Competition (hopefully) goes to:
Dolphins @ Packers
While the game is at Lambeau Field and the Pack have been playing well-they may be missing Aaron Rodgers this week and Nick Barnett probably for the season. I think the Fins will win this one simply because they are healthier.
Ravens @ Patriots
This week we'll see Aaron Hernandez emerge in the Patriots' passing game and some more shots of Tom Brady's freaky long hair. We'll also see the Ravens' defense continue to scare anyone on the offensive line of any team. Yet the Ravens' offense has struggled putting up the points, and the Pats haven't. Patriots win.
Let's try some picks this week, maybe there won't be as many upsets and I won't pick below .500 like I did last week. Ouch.

Week Five Picks
Three of the four teams heading into their bye week come in on a loss, at least the Dolphins, Steelers and Seahawks have a week to lick their wounds and come back strong. The Patriots beat the Dolphins handily, so this week is probably more vacation for the veterans and workouts for the rookies. By the way, if the Steelers had a bye in Week 5 anyway, and Worthlessburger's suspension hadn't been reduced from six games to four, he wouldn't have returned to the NFL until Week 7. I still think it would have been appropriate and it's not as though the Steelers are hurting without him anyway, they are 3-1.
Anywho, the craptastic games of the week go to:
Jaguars @ Bills
Besides running across a facebook group this week that wants the Buffalo Bills to be renamed the Buffalo Bison and finding that completely ridiculous, hilarious, and redundant, that's about all this game inspires for me. The Jags show up to play once in awhile when they are at home, and the Bills are due for a win since they are 0-4 and this is one of the teams they can actually beat. Bills win.
Rams @ Lions
I think both teams have improved since last year, but I also think they are still at the bottom of the NFL. The Lions have played as competitive as the Rams, but they are 1-3 while the Rams are 2-2. Also, the three games the Lions lost have been one score games, and all of them have been on the road. I take the Lions at home.
Buccaneers @ Bengals
The Bengals win ugly, and lost uglier last week to the Browns. I think they play with a vengeance this week and take it out on the Bucs. Bengals win at home.
Falcons @ Browns
The Falcons haven't showcased themselves this season like they did in 2009 and Mangenius is still the head coach of the Browns. I think the Falcons will be able to edge out a win, especially since Delhomme is likely to play at QB for the Browns.
Not craptastic but not fantastic:
Broncos @ Ravens
I think if Denver had a running game then they may be able to get something done against the Ravens. Alas, the offensive scheme relies solely on Orton's arm and his merry band of receivers. I don't think Baltimore's defense is going to give ol' Ortie time to find the open man down field. I guess I have to pick Baltimore.
Chiefs @ Colts
The Chiefs are coming off their bye week and a fun-filled 3-0 start. The Colts are 2-2 in their division and a game behind the Texans. I don't think Peyton Manning will let this game get away from him at home and though I'm rooting for the underdog, I think the Colts will get it done.
Bears @ Panthers
I laughed heartily each of the nine times Cutler was sacked last week (in the first half of the game). This week the Bears are playing QB Todd Collins instead and they're facing the rookie Jimmy Clausen. I think this is a must-win game for the Panthers since their 0-4 start and I think Clausen can outplay Collins. Panthers for their first win of the season.
Giants @ Texans
The Texans had no problems beating up on big brother Manning in Week One, and I'm sure they won't have a problem beating up on little brother Manning in Week Five. The Texans are solid on all sides of the ball and will probably make it to the playoffs this year. The Giants have some relief since their win last week at home against the Bears and won't play as aggressive as they can. Texans win.
Saints @ Cardinals
The Saints have lost their 2009 mojo, and the Cards are starting their rookie QB Max Hall after things didn't work out so well with Derek Anderson. (Gee, who didn't see that one coming.) I think Brees gets the job done in the desert. Saints win.
Titans @ Cowboys
The Titans aren't the team everyone thought they would be and neither are the Cowboys. The Boys are coming off their bye week rested and maybe, just maybe, Wade Phillips has figured out that he isn't in Kansas anymore and that he's in the Big D coaching football. (Well, the coaching part may be stretching it as lost as he's looked as of late.) I think Phillips and Roschmoe get it done at home since Chris Johnson doesn't have an offensive line to run through.
Chargers @ Raiders
The Raiders are the same old Raiders and Philip Rivers still haunts me. I think Rivers' passing attack will win out over the Raiders in the Black Hole and Tom Cable's job security for an entire season starts hanging in the balance. (Read Emperor Palpatine-er, I mean Al Davis, will not be pleased.)
Eagles @ 49ers
This game just about made it to the craptastic section because of the 49ers. But everyone is still holding out hope for them simply because the rest of their division is at 2-2 and these are the 49ers that everyone said would dominate the NFC West. I still think the Eagles come in to Candlestick and take home the win. (Yes, even with Kevin Kolb, Philly fans, he was your starting QB before Vick's first game of starting QB that resulted in injury. He can get the job done.)
The sort-of fantastic section of the week goes to:
Packers @ Redsk!ns
I think if the Sk!ns actually show up to play this could be a good game. I still think that the Pack is motivated enough to pull out the win though.
Vikings @ Jets
Coach Chilly thinks that if he gets as many veterans on his team as possible he couldn't possibly screw up the win, right? Wrong, Chilly, you still need to coach you bald weirdo. And no matter how big Randy Moss is or how high his jump or how long his reach, he still can't save Favre from throwing those INTs. Repeatedly. The Jets will be more than happy to pounce on the #4 who came in for four months and just as quickly retreated. Especially with Calvin Pace and Darrel Revis back in the game. Jets win.
Jets win.

Week Four Picks
It's a good thing it's a bye week for the Cowboys and Vikings who finally won a game in Week Three. Maybe they can look at how they played versus getting trampled in the first two weeks and make something out of this season. The Bucs enter the bye week with their first loss of the season, but it was to a solid Steelers team. They and the Chiefs, who are 3-0, probably don't have much to worry about except having a good time at practice in their bye week.
Craptastic Section:
Bengals @ Browns
The Bengals win ugly and the Browns are just ugly. While a few analysts are picking this game as the upset of the week; I just don't think Mangenius can muster that kind of a game, even if his team is playing at home. I think the Bengals will go up 3-1 and T.O. will still be bitching about his offensive line.
Not Craptastic but not Fantastic:
Jets @ Bills
The Bills 3-4 defense falls apart steadily throughout the game. The Jets offense finally figured out after Week One what they were made of. The Jets will easily take down their division rival.
Broncos @ Titans
My beloved Broncos lead the league in passing yards, but we just can't score. The Titans play well when Vince Young is in a good mood. Otherwise the relief QB Kerry Collins gets thrown in there. I'm hoping Young is in a bad mood. I'm also hoping Champ Bailey and Andre Goodman shut Chris Johnson down. I take the Broncos to win.
Lions @ Packers
I would have loved to have seen a competitive Lions team with Stafford at the helm. Alas, that will still be a few more weeks. The Lions are also playing their division rival at home who just lost a huge game Monday Night to a different division rival. The Packers will be playing angry and won't commit the same amount of atrocious penalties as when they played the Bears last week. Pack wins.
49ers @ Falcons
The Falcons are playing hard to be a competitor in their division. The 49ers are playing frustrated, but the frustration that makes mistakes, not motivates. And they're on the road. With a new offensive coordinator. Falcons win.
Panthers @ Saints
Even with Jimmy Clausen at the helm, the Panthers are facing a Saints team that just lost a game in their division in overtime... at home. The Saints will be playing with a vengeance and the Panthers don't stand a chance. Saints win.
Seahawks @ Rams
The Hawks have demonstrated that they are a very different team on the road than when they play at home with the 12th man. Even though Seattle has better defense and special teams, the Rams desperately want to go 2-2, and the Sk!ns only gave them confidence last week. Rams win.
Colts @ Jaguars
David Garrard is slowly falling apart at QB, the newly acquired Trent Edwards from the Buffalo Bills isn't ready to take on the responsibility of this offense yet. And they face Peyton Manning and the Colts. Colts win.
Texans @ Raiders
Those poor little Raiders, they face a Texan team who just lost a major game last week to their state rival, the Cowboys. The Texans will come to town and give the Black Hole a Black Eye. Texans win.
Cardinals @ Chargers
The Cards are confused about their identity. The only saving grace for the Chargers is Philip Rivers, (even if he is a douche, he is a talented douche). The Chargers passing attack will run rampant over this Cardinals team. Chargers win.
Bears @ Giants
The G-men are on a losing streak of 2 games. The Bears are playing under the pretense that they are actually good. I bet the false confidence wins out over playing lost at home. Bears win.
Fantastic Competition:
Ravens @ Steelers
The Ravens and Steelers have excellent defenses, but the Steelers offense is also able to put up more points than the Ravens. I bet the Steelers go 4-0 without that big dope at QB.
Redsk!ns @ Eagles
If this was a game solely about QBs, then I think McNabb would win against his former Eagles team and Michael Vick. However, it is not, and last week McNabb had to sit on the sideline while his defense gave up 30 points to a below average Rams team. I think Vick and the Eagles will get it done at home.
Patriots @ Dolphins
An intense division rivalry, and both teams have recent losses to the Jets, one of the other division rivals. The Dolphins want to avoid going 0-2 at home against their division rivals, and the Pats want to avoid going 0-2 against division rivals. I'll take the uneven Dolphins' offense against a young Patriot defense.
Craptastic Section:
Bengals @ Browns
The Bengals win ugly and the Browns are just ugly. Week Three Picks
As the injury list grows, and seven starting QBs have been benched for injuries or more than likely, not completing the pass; we have some surprising teams starting at 0-2 and other surprises at 2-0.
The craptastic section of the week:
We have a few games in this section this week, mostly because we have more bottom of the barrel teams playing middle of the line teams who have difficulty putting up the points.
Steelers @ Buccaneers
All right, I've offended some people, how could I put the Steelers game in the craptastic section this week when they and the Bucs have proven most analysts wrong by going 2-0. Easy, one, they are playing the Bucs whose two wins came against the Browns and the Panthers. Two, they have only beaten both their opponents by 14 points total... for both games. (Read: they average 17 points a game.) Three, the Steelers are 31st in the NFL for total yards gained, and also 31st for passing yards. While I believe the Steelers will win this one on the road regardless of the Bucs' D, I do think Polamalu deserves a raise for his part on this QB stricken team. Steelers finish this week 3-0.
Bills @ Patriots
The Bills are 0-2 and play like it. The Patriots are 1-1 after losing to the Jets last week and Tom Brady has never looked that pissed off after losing a game-(even the Super Bowl to the Giants to end a perfect season.) Brady will take his frustrations out on a hapless Bills team. Pats win.
Browns @ Ravens
The Browns are 0-2, by the end of this week they will be 0-3, and Mangenius will continue to sweat about the security of his job. The Ravens, while a powerhouse on defense, also struggle on offense and have averaged 10 points a game (30th in the NFL) while going 1-1 these last two weeks. While I'm certain the Ravens will win at home, I don't see this as a potentially exciting match up.
Lions @ Vikings
The two 0-2 teams of the NFC North, awesome. The Lions lost their QB Matt Stafford in Week One, and have hurt ever since because of it. While they have only lost by 8 points total in the first two weeks of the season, they are headed to a desperate Vikings team with an even more desperate Brett Favre at the helm. While Favre may be feeling enough pressure to throw a few picks, he also has won games at the last minute when his team needed it. I don't think Shaun Hill has this capability yet. Vikings win at home.
Raiders @ Cardinals
While the change at QB helped the Raiders overcome the Rams last week, I don't think the Cards will fall for that at home. Cards win.
Not craptastic but not fantastic:
Titans @ Giants
I think Tom Coughlin sucks at play calling. I also think Jeff Fisher regrets paying QB Vince Young as a franchise QB when he consistently runs hot and cold. It's a good thing that Kerry Collins is a around. While Eli Manning's offense doesn't protect him in the pocket, I do think the Giants will be able to pull off the win at home if they keep Chris Johnson contained.
Bengals @ Panthers
The only reason this game makes it in the middle of the line section is because it will be interesting to see how Clausen starts in the NFL. It will be different than his years at Notre Dame, but hopefully he plays better than Matt Moore. Even with this change at QB and the Panthers playing at home, I'm still fairly certain the Bengals will come out with the win.
49ers @ Chiefs
While the 49ers got their groove back last week when they hosted the Saints at home, they have already demonstrated their ability on the road against a tough 12th man. I'm not sure how Qwest Field stands up in comparison to playing at Arrowhead, but I'm fairly certain Arrowhead is much more difficult. The Chiefs go 3-0, 49ers, 0-3.
Redsk!ns @ Rams
Sometimes I wonder if Spagnuolo would rather be defensive coordinator under Tom Coughlin. Until then, he needs to learn how to manage the clock, especially in the last few minutes of the game to optimize his winning potential. The Rams have only lost by 6 points total in the first two weeks of the season. I'm not sure how close they'll be to losing in this game, but I'm fairly certain Shanny and the Sk!ns come away with the win.
Eagles @ Jaguars
While the Jags looked tough at home in Week One, they also proved to be their old selves on the road in Week Two. I think the Eagles are good enough to beat the Jags at home even while their defense has given up 60 points in the first two games. Besides, I'll take Vick over Garrard any day.
Colts @ Broncos
The two horsey teams are 1-1, and at the end of this game, I think the Colts may beat my beloved Broncos. I'll be decked out in my blue and orange, but I don't think the various insults I hurl at Peyton Manning from the couch will discourage his playing ability. The Broncos also have key injuries to Champ Baily and Andre Goodman, who may play, and Knowshon Moreno who injured his hamstring at yesterday's practice. I also don't know how the Broncos will respond to losing a fellow player to suicide earlier this week. The two players who were killed in 2007 were lost in the off season. So while the Broncos know of this heartache because of recent experience, it will still put a much different spin on the regular season. R.I.P. Kenny McKinley.
Chargers @ Seahawks
Two teams who are 1-1, the big difference maker here is going to be the 12th man. Qwest Field was able to shut down a very good 49ers team with Pete Carroll's rah-rah spirit in Week One. The Chiefs' 12th man shut down a competitive Chargers team in Week One. The Chargers will suffer the same fate that the 49ers did at Qwest Field. Seahawks win.
Fantastic Competitions:
Cowboys @ Texans
The Texans have been playing too well (2-0) and the Cowboys look too confused (0-2) for the Texans to throw away the Lone Star State rivalry at home. Texans win. (And I laugh at the schmoes of Wade Phillips and Tony Roschmoe.)
Falcons @ Saints
The Falcons aren't the breakout team that they were last year, but they are competitive even after they went toe-to-toe with the Steelers for a loss in Week One. They also want a top spot in this division, and the way to win this division is through New Orleans. Even though the Saints have a huge loss with the injury to Reggie Bush, Coach Sean Payton and QB Drew Brees are crafty and talented enough to win without him. Saints win at home.
Jets @ Dolphins
I knew the Dolphins had improved in the off season, I didn't know how much they had improved. At 2-0 they are leading the AFC East and show no signs of slowing down to the division rival and trash talking Jets team. Even though the Jets had a big win against the Pats last week, they are facing a Dolphins team who picked them apart last year and have improved their cornerback position and have a faster linebacker corps. The Dolphins also run the ball well and they don't have to worry about the injured Darrelle Revis on defense.
Packers @ Bears
The 2-0 NFC North match up should be a great Monday Night game. While I predicted the Packers would be 2-0, I didn't think the Bears QB would take that quickly to a new offensive system. I still don't have the faith that it will work the entire season as when Cutler comes under pressure no one can save the amount of INTs thrown. Mike Martz and Lovie Smith may be looking for new jobs when the wheels come off their team. The Pack wins at Chicago.
The craptastic section of the week:
We have a few games in this section this week, mostly because we have more bottom of the barrel teams playing middle of the line teams who have difficulty putting up the points.
Steelers @ Buccaneers

Week Two Picks
Wow. I did not see a few of those losses coming last week. And neither did the Jets, Bengals, Chargers, Colts, or 49ers. (Nor did the Lions foresee losing their QB Matt Stafford for a few weeks due to a separated shoulder or losing the game because Calvin Johnson set the ball down too soon therefore "not completing the pass").
Anywho, the crap game of the week goes to:
Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Carolina Panthers
The Panthers are playing at home and they put up 18 points against Eli Manning and the Giants last week. The Bucs won last week against... the Browns. Both teams will be 1-1 at the end of this game. Panthers win.
Better than craptastic but not fantastic:
Kansas City Chiefs @ Cleveland Browns
The Browns are the Browns and Mangenius stumbles on his own words. They are hosting the KC Chiefs who are showing up to town with some new muscles, new attitude, and a completely new look. Not only is the AFC West a little frightened, so are the Browns. Chiefs win.
St. Louis Rams @ Oakland Raiders
This is a difficult game for me to call. The Raiders talked big for losing big to the Titans last week, and the Rams stayed competitive with the Cards till the end. I think the Rams are a better built team especially with Sam Bradford-but he can't carry them all the time. The Rams are also playing in the Black Hole, but I think they're hungry enough for a win on the road.
Chicago Bears @ Dallas Cowboys
The Bears got lucky last week against the Lions with the call on Calvin Johnson not completing the pass and taking out QB Matthew Stafford. While Dallas appears to still be confused about being a competitive football team, they were also embarrassed at FedEx field last week and won't let that happen at home. Boys win.
Arizona Cardinals @ Atlanta Falcons
The Cards won last week against a Rams team that's still fighting its way up from the bottom of the barrel. The Falcons kept pace with a Steelers team missing their franchise QB and are playing at home. I think Matt Ryan will outplay Derek Anderson. Falcons win.
Seattle Seahawks @ Denver Broncos
The Seahawks surprised the hell out of me last week in their pummeling of the 49ers. I was also greatly disappointed in the Broncos loss to Jacksonville. I'm also not sure how the Seahawks will play without their 12th man, and Mile High is a somewhat difficult stadium for away teams to win in. I'll take Kyle Orton and his Broncos at home even though their 12th man's fickle loyalty is second only to the Eagles fan base.
New Orleans Saints @ San Francisco 49ers
This may have been a high caliber game except for the fact that the 49ers absolutely imploded last week. The Saints come to San Fran with their experienced receiver corps at the ready and the 49ers will be happy if they can get their plays called on time.
Saints win.
Jacksonville Jaguars @ San Diego Chargers
The Jags fought hard last week to win their home opener and to keep Del Rio as their coach. The Chargers usually start slow in September, and they kept that trend as they slogged through the rain at Kansas City Monday night. However, I don't believe that starting with an embarrassing loss to the Chiefs will have them slow at home against the Jags. Chargers win.
Miami Dolphins @ Minnesota Vikings
While Favre still loves football-he is also awfully tired as he couldn't bounce back to form in the second half against the Saints last week. The Dolphins are coming to town, and while it looks as though they are improving in every way, they also have to compete against Minnesota's defense at home. I don't think they get it done. Vikings win.
Philadelphia Eagles @ Detroit Lions
The Lions suffered a heartbreaking loss of game and QB last week. The Eagles lost at home to a very good Packers team and also lost their starting QB. The big difference here is that the Eagles have Michael Vick in to sub and the Lions have... who again? Still, I think the Lions' Defense is strong enough to keep Vick in the pocket and force him to throw and therefore make some mistakes. I pick the Lions to win at home.
Buffalo Bills @ Green Bay Packers
I still think the Pack could go all the way this year, and the Bills just aren't that strong of a team. (Read: they lack receiver depth.) The Pack has an easy win at home.
Now for the fantastic games! (Or fantastic competition and the really hyped up ones. Yay.)
New York Giants @ Indianapolis Colts
I still think the Colts' glory days are slowly fading. I also still think that the Giants haven't played as great as they did when they beat the Pats in the Super Bowl. Still, this game gets all the hype because of THE MANNING BROTHERS dun-dun, dun.... Let's see, the Colts are playing at home, Peyton has more MVPs, and he doesn't start 0-2. Colts, er... I mean big brother wins.
New England Patriots @ New York Jets
Tom Brady still hates the Jets, but he thinks their fan base is more loyal. Rex Ryan and the Jets talked a lot of smack in the off season but their offense was shut down by the Ravens last week. Even with the Jets playing at home and not wanting to start 0-2 at home I still think actions will speak louder than words. Pats get it done in the Meadowlands.
Baltimore Ravens @ Cincinnati Bengals
While the Bengals are playing at home and they most certainly have the offensive weapons to win, they didn't demonstrate last week that they could get it done. The Baltimore Defense has a great white shark in Ray Lewis who smells the blood of whoever is handling the football and will eat them alive. Lewis and the D will be all over the offense and will effectively shut it down enough so that the middle-of-the-line Ravens offense can put up a few more points for the win.
Pittsburgh Steelers @ Tennessee Titans
While the Steelers have one of the best defenses this season, and they are seemingly operating just fine with Dennis Dixon at the helm-they are also facing Jeff Fisher, QB Vince Young, and Chris Johnson on their home field. I think the Titans will be able to pull out a win.
Houston Texans @ Washington Redsk!ns
This game got a lot more interesting with the offensive minds of Head Coaches Kubiak and Shanahan going head-to-head. Kubiak has been building his team for years while Shanny just showed up in D.C. The Texans are also effective in their passing and running game and defense. Arian Foster will also run all over the Redsk!ns who quite honestly had a few of their TDs handed to them by the Cowboys last week. Texans win.

Week One (minus the Season Opener)
All right, let's work from the bottom up this week, shall we? Let's face it, no matter how much we love our football--even the hardiest die-hard football fan has that one game they just don't care about.
Cleveland Browns @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Crap. This game will be absolute crap. I'd rather walk a couple blocks away to the high school stadium, sit behind the football moms with milk jugs filled with sand as their noise makers and watch that game. Bucs win.
Middle of the Line:
These games will be tolerable, and enjoyable if you're actually a fan of one of the teams.
Miami Dolphins @ Buffalo Bills
While I think both teams have improved since last season, I also think they play in an extremely difficult division. (Read: Pats and Jets are the other teams in this division.) While this will be a good game, I'm not yet seeing the playoff potential. Fish win.
Denver Broncos @ Jacksonville Jaguars
Many will be surprised that I have rated my beloved Broncos as a middle of the line game. Let's face it, the team that started 6-0 last season finished the season by going 2-8. I'm not impressed. I think Coach McDaniels needs another year now that he has that cancer Marshall off the team and a different defensive coordinator. (Good luck with Marshall, Phins). But the Broncos also need to prove it to me this year, and they better start off the season with a win against troubled Jacksonville. (Del Rio, start working on your resume, buddy.) Broncos win.
Atlanta Falcons @ Pittsburgh Steelers
Yes, I know, as does the world, that Dennis Dixon is starting for the Steelers. Got it, thanks. That's what happens when the starting QB is a douche who doesn't know how to treat women. Yes, I know that the charges were dropped. You know what else I think? I think someone was paid handsomely to claim that while his young victim was bloody and bruised there wasn't enough evidence for rape. Bullsh!t.
Steelers will continue to eat some of their humble pie. Falcons win.
Oakland Raiders @ Tennessee Titans
I am having a difficult time listing this as a middle of the line game. But the Faders may actually have something going for them this year. It'll be interesting to see how they start the season against the Titans. Still, I'm going with Tennessee for the win.
Carolina Panthers @ New York Giants
I think the Giants as the underdogs were meant to win the Super Bowl a couple of years ago and bring the perfect Patriots to their knees. Since then, they haven't played a high caliber of football. And the Panthers, are... well, the Panthers. Giants win.
Detroit Lions @ Chicago Bears
Does anyone else get the chant "Lions, and Tigers, and Bears oh my!" stuck in their head after hearing about this match up? Anywho, I think the Lions have figured out a lot this season and are anxious to debut their stuff against their division rival. The Bears have brought in a fresh offensive coordinator to further confuse QB Jay Cutler which could also mean another season high of INTs. Lions win.
Arizona Cardinals @ St. Louis Rams
I'm not sure if the QB question in the desert is settled as Derek Anderson has been promoted to starter. Franchise QB? Probably not, but they also needed someone who had more emotional stability than Leinart. Bye Leinart. I like Sam Bradford at QB for the Rams, and maybe Coach Spagnuolo has something new figured out this season. I'll take the Rams to beat the Cards.
San Francisco 49ers @ Seattle Seahawks
Sorry Seattle, you have to start against Coach Singletary, a hardass coach who thinks he has something to prove. And I bet his team will pay for it if they don't take this win. 49ers beat the Hawks.
San Deigo Chargers @ Kansas City Chiefs
WOOHOO! It's a division rivalry! It's going to be a competitive match! It's going to be... oh wait, the Chiefs? Dude. While everyone is saying they've created enough changes to actually be a contender this year, it might be mid season before they figure out what they have. Chargers win in Arrowhead.
Now for the games with some competitive, amazing football. Hopefully.
Cincinnati Bengals @ New England Patriots
I do think the Patriots are fading from their glory days, but it's a slow fade, and they're still a tough team to beat. The Pats will have a competitive match in the Bengals with the rampant, headcase personalities of Ochocinco, T.O., Pacman Jones, and Tank Johnson. I think they'll be able to beat the Pats at Foxboro. Bengals win.
Indianapolis Colts @ Houston Texans
I also think the Colts are fading from their glory days despite their appearance in the Super Bowl last year. (Maybe some of their competitive edge was lost in the retirement of Dungy, just saying.) Anyway, the Texans are really starting to be a contender and this game should be exciting with solid offenses and defenses operating on both teams. I pick the Texans to win at home.
Green Bay Packers @ Philadelphia Eagles
I rarely make Super Bowl predictions in the first week of the season, but I honestly think the Pack will make it all the way this year barring too many injuries. Also, I don't think new Eagle starting QB Kevin Kolb has a real grounding in being a QB in the NFL yet. Cheeseheads win.
Dallas Cowboys @ Washington Redsk!ns
Now here's an interesting division rivalry this week! While I think Coach Wade Phillips and QB Tony Romo are complete schmoes, the Cowboys will probably be a competitive team this year. I also think that Coach Shanny will be trotting out his tired old offensive schemes that he used with the Broncos and his son Kyle used with Texans. While they are good, they are well known. Also, just in, QB Donovan McNabb has a sprained ankle but will be probable to play. For a few series. Anyway, Cowboys win.
Baltimore Ravens @ New York Jets
Big mouths, big games, both are amazing on both sides of the ball. The only thing swaying me in this game is the Ravens already have some injuries, and they'll be playing to hang on until the 2nd half of the season when Ed Reed is able to return. Add that factor to the Jets playing at home, and I'll take the Jets for the win.
Cleveland Browns @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers

IT'S THE SEASON OPENER!!!
And I almost forgot about my blog. Ha.
Even though the National Anthem just played in the Vikings @ Saints game I can still make my pick, and then get my act together for Sunday and Monday.
Vikings @ Saints
I'm predicting this game to be a close one. But alas, the Saints will pull out the win. Why? They are riding on an all-time high after winning their first Super Bowl. Coach Sean Payton and QB Drew Brees are amazing leaders. And... on the other side... we have Coach Chilly who's still whining that there were late hits on his antique QB in the last NFC Championship game. The Vikings can only make it so far with that kind of leadership ability in their Coach. "I didn't win. So I'm going to whine. And pout. And whine some more."
See you on the flip side of this game when I make my picks for the rest of Week One. (I just figured it would be fair to make this post before the clock clicks down too far in this game.)
